Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Released: January 2010

Sci-fi fans are in for a real treat with the release of District 9 on Blu-ray, a film presented by Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp.

District 9 is a dream film for sci-fi fans, as aliens have landed on Earth and have been set up in this camp where they are able to stay at least for awhile.

The problem though is that the country holding them becomes unhappy, and they need to be evicted and moved to a remote location.

Of course, things may not go smoothly, as the film unfolds in a somewhat expected manner, with plenty of creativity, cool special effects, and a top-notch sci-fi film overall.

District 9 is an extremely unique and innovative film and is certainly not one to miss on Blu-ray from Sony.

The audio and video quality of this release is absolutely top-notch, with great details on the aliens, and what Earth would look like if this type of thing would happen.

The audio is quite clear as well, making good use of the front and rear channels throughout.

The great thing about this release is the fantastic extras that have been included.

Beyond the digital copy of the film, there are tons of featurettes looking at the way in which the whole world of District 9 was created.

You also get a look at the visual effects, the special effects, and much more.

There are deleted scenes, audio commentary, and BD-Live features tacked on as well.

District 9 is a great, highly-unique sci-fi film and is one of the better sci-fi films of 2009 to be sure, highly-recommended!
