Big Machine Records Defend Taylor Swift Grammy Performance

February 4, 2010

The label for Taylor swift has come to her aid following her performance at the Grammy Awards this past Sunday
Boston (DbTechNo) - The label for Taylor swift has come to her aid following her performance at the Grammy Awards this past Sunday.

Swift has been facing some criticism following her performance at the awards show but her label is backing her 100 percent.

There was a technical glitch during her duet with Stevie Nicks, that caused Swift’s earpiece not to work properly.

In rehearsal the pair had hit it off beautifully but when it came to the actual performance, the technical problems caused Swift to be off her game.

“We had a volume problem in the ear. So, she was concerned that she wasn’t able to hear everything in the mix,” said Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta. “That’s just part of live TV. … So you’re going to have difficulties on occasion. Unfortunately, on one of the biggest stages, we did have a technical issue. She couldn’t hear herself like she had in rehearsal.”

“She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to (her fans), and they speak directly back to her,” said Borchetta. “This is not `American Idol.’ This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”
