Andrew Koenig Hung Himself in Stanley Park

More information is being released pertaining to the death of Growing Pains actor Andrew Koenig. It appears that Andrew hung himself from a tree in Stanley Park, bringing an end to his troubled life.

Alarm bells were sounded as to his whereabouts back on February 16, when he did not catch a flight out of Vancouver. At that point, police were called into play, and a full on investigation was launched to try to track him down. Andrew’s parents even flew to Vancouver to help with the search, and it was a search party that they themselves were a part of that eventually found his body hanging from a tree in a secluded area of the park.

In a Thursday night press conference, Andrew’s father Walter confirmed that his son had indeed taken his own life. He stated that at the time of his death, Andrew was dealing with severe depression. “No parent should have to deal with anytime like this,” Walter told Us magazine. “Don’t ignore it; don’t rationalize it…extend a hand,” he added at the press conference.

No plans have been made public yet reguarding a funeral service for Andrew.
