World of Outlaws Sprint Cars is the latest release from THQ to follow the sport where NASCAR meets the mud basically, as these cars go flying around dirt tracks with engines roaring and plenty of messy stuff flying around.

The game is all based around World of Outlaws, where racers take cars with big wings, huge tires, and some killer engines and basically race around tracks trying to take first place.

At first glance, this one looks like it had a lot of potential at first, I mean when you look at it, the cars look great, the action appears intense, and everything seems to come together.

The fact of the matter though is that the game, once you get a bit into it, lacks the depth and fun-factor needed to truly please the racing fans out there.

The biggest issue I have with the game is that it is just not all that fun to play. Unfortunately, you never really feel like you are in total control of your ride.

The game just does not control the way you want, as you will end up going all over the course, even after you have gained a great deal of experience with the tracks and various vehicles that the game features.

In terms of the visuals, there is certainly some good stuff here with some pretty cool special effects and stuff. Unfortunately though there is a lack of overall polish with the texture work on both the tracks and the cars, as well as the overall atmosphere that the visuals present to you.

There is just a lack of polish, all of the cars really do look pretty much exactly the same, and you never feel like you are part of this big race, it all feels too unrealistic to be quite honest and it really hurts the whole vibe of the game.

The presentation doesn’t help any either as the soundtrack leaves a lot to be desired, with very generic rock tracks leaving you wanting to load up yor own custom soundtrack on the Xbox 360.

The game tries to bring depth with multiplayer, a career mode, etc, but the fact of the matter is that if the game is not all that fun to play to begin with, what is th epoint in really spending all that much time with it?

I also would have like dto see more customization in regards to giving you the ability to really tweak your cars in terms of decals, colors, engine tuning, etc. Everything is just too generic for my liking and it hurts the depth a great deal.

World of Outlaws Sprint Cars is just not a good racing game unfortunately as it just leaves you wanting so much more. Fans of the sport could check it out as a rental if you are extremely curious, but casual fans should stay away from this one.
