Corey Haim was in Possession of an Illegal Drug Prescription

Officials continue to investigate following the discovery of an illegal prescription in the possession of the late Corey Haim.

The prescription has been tied to a massive illegal drug ring, and many wonder if Haim, 38, was involved.

In all, four prescription bottles were removed from the home, but it is not known if any of these bottles contained drugs obtained illegally.

“We know there was a prescription pad stolen and there was a prescription written for him using that pad, so it was fraudulent and we know it was filled,” California Attorney General’s spokeswoman Christine Gasparac tells PEOPLE.

Haim died at a Los Angeles hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning after collapsing at his mom’s apartment.
