Cop Out
Blu-ray Review
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment
Released: August 2010
Cop Out brings together Bruce Willis, known mainly for his great action films, and Tracy Morgan, known more for his comedy than anything else. The mash-up of the two makes for a decent action-comedy that has hit the Blu-ray format.
Kevin Smith brings us Cop Out as he takes to the director chair for this one. Unfortunately though this one leaves a lot to be desired.
The film almost seems that it is trying too hard at times to make the audience laugh, to the point where it is nearly forced.
Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are not a good mix and they really lack chemistry right from the first scene onward.
The film has a few moments, but overall it is a bag of mediocrity.
The film is presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio along with DTS-HD 5.1 surround sound. The presentation here is tremendous with a great transfer that is nearly flawless.
There is some added value to this release as you get the film on DVD as well as in digital form to go along with the Blu-ray.
There are decent special features included as well such as the Maximum Comedy mode with commentary tracks, deleted scenes, featurettes, and more.
This is a mash-up basically of a whole bunch of extras that do add some entertainment value. Unfortunately the film may not be good enough for you to even get to them.
Cop Out leaves a lot to be desired as the story is lacking, and the chemistry between the two stars is just not there. Cop Out on Blu-ray is one to pass up unfortunately.
