Xbox 360 Review

Developer: CyberConnect2

Released: October 2010

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is one of the most highly-anticipated Naruto video game releases in quite some time for the series. This series has seen dozens of game releases, but Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 brings some unique factors to the table that are surely going to please fans.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 does a great job of telling the Naruto story by combining some nice story-telling elements to go along with some very enjoyable action.

The experience here is really a mix of botha ction, as well as some RPG elements and will definitely appeal to fans of this popular and long-running anime franchise.

You take control of the character Gaara during the game, which was something which pleased me greatly as a Naruto fan. Gaara is a hero who turned from the dark side and to play as him is very cool as you get a unique perspective of the story.

The presentation quality here is very strong in regards to the audio and video. The game looks just as the anime does, and CyberConnect 2 has done a great job of really putting on a visual show from all aspects.

The audio is equally as impressive, matching what you would expect from the hit anime from episode to episode.

The gameplay is enjoyable but unfortunately is a bit limited in regards to its depth as a whole. The game feels a bit too much of a button-masher in some areas as you can just jam on buttons to pull off numerous attacks with little skill requires.

There are certain combos included in the combat system but I would have liked to see it be a bit more complex so that it would take a little longer to actually master.

Do not take this to mean that the game is not fun, because that is certainly not the case. This is a very fun action game and the combat system is enjoyable, I just would have liked to see a bit more out of it. The defense system is strong and it does have som eother nice elements.

The game packs some nice replay value with a cool online battle mode, over 40 characters from the Naruto universe, and much more. You are not going to get bored here too quickly.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is a very fun game and one that Naruto fans are going to enjoy on the Xbox 360 and PS3. For fans of the anime, this is not one to miss this holiday season!
