Ricki Lake Gambling on Weight Loss on ‘DWTS’

It’s an exciting time for actress and former talk-show queen Ricki Lake, 42. Not only is she engaged to be married to jewelry designer Christian Evans but a new cast member for “Dancing with the Stars” or DWTS to its hard-core fans. Lake has always struggled with her weight but hopes to fit into a svelte bridal gown on her wedding day. This will be Lakes second marriage. Her first marriage to artist Rob Sussman ended in 2005.

In an interview with “Access Hollywood”, Lake revealed she hopes that the intense training regimen for DWTS will cause her to loose weight. If this should happen, Lake would be the fourth celebrity dancer to undergo a dramatic weight loss in connection with DWTS. The other contestants were ratings-boosters Kelly Osbourne, Kristie Alley and DWTS winner Marie Osmond.

After DTWS ends, Lake plans on working on a new version of her talk show, to be called “The Ricki Lake Show.” Her original show ended in 2004 when Lake wanted to spend time with her young children.
