Betty White turned 90 years old yesterday, and, to celebrate the occasion, she taped a star-studded special which aired on Monday.
White, star of the 1980′s hit sitcom, “The Golden Girls,” held a bash that taped on January 8th. The show included performances and tributes from friends and colleagues.
Betty White first caught the eye of many Americans while appearing on the “Mary Tyler Moore” show. Cloris Leachman, Carol Burnett, and Amy Poehler paid tribute to the star, as well as Moore herself.
Moore was greeted with enthusiastic applause at the event, having recently undergone surgery to remove a brain tumor.
While the birthday celebration event was a big affair, White celebrated her actual birthday quietly, staying home with her dog, Pontiac, a golden retriever.
