Actor James Farentino Dies Of Heart Failure At Age 73

On January 24, 2012 actor James Farentino died of heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Farentino was 73 years old.

His career spanned across 4 decades in the acting industry. Farentino won his first Golden Globe in 1967 for his performance in a comedy called The Pad and How to Use it. He starred with Patty Duke in Me, Natalie in 1969.

He also appeared on ER as the character Ray Ross. He played St. Peter in Jesus of Nazareth mini-series and was nominated for an Emmy in 1977.

He played in the role of Dr. Nick Toscanni on the TV series Dynasty. He also starred on Melrose Place. Farentino appeared in many television series and movies over the years.

Farentino was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938. He was married four times and known for his turbulent personal relationships.

He pleaded no contest to stalking Frank Sinatra’s daughter Tina in 1994 He was arrested in 2010 for battery after trying to physically remove a man from his Hollywood, CA home.

James Farentino is survived by his sons Saverio and David.
