Peaches Geldof, daughter of musician Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, has revealed that she is six months pregnant with a boy. Not confirming her rumored mummy-to-be status until she told her father on Boxing Day, Ms. Geldof says her dad was extremely happy.

She emphasized that he was particularly ecstatic that it was a boy considering that Peaches has two sisters and a step-sister. He will finally have a male family member to bond with.

Ms. Geldof, 22, and fiancé Thomas Cohen, 20, front man for the band S.C.U.M., have been nesting since becoming aware of the expected arrival.

The baby is due on her late mother’s birthday which Ms. Geldof finds all the more appealing feeling that her mum had a part in the baby’s timing.

Ms. Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when Peaches was just 11. Since then, her life has been erratic with drug issues, eating disorders, and arrests for petty theft.

She says Cohen has been a great influence in calming her down and growing her up.
