Lindsay Lohan Hospitalized After Collision with Dump Truck
The drama continues for actress Lindsay Lohan, whose Porche rear-ended a dump truck when she was driving her sports car north on Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles, TMZ first reported.
Lohan’s assistant was in the passenger seat and both she and the young man were taken to the hospital, complaining of minor pain.
The driver of the 18-wheeler truck was not physically injured.
Both Lohan and her assistant were examined by physicians at UCLA Medical Center and released a short time later. Lohan was on the way to the set of her recent film when the accident occured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and police have not determined if the 25 year old actress was driving too fast for conditions or if the dump truck suddenly slowed in front of her vehicle, causing her to plow into the truck’s rear end. Spectators noted that Lohan’s Porche windshield and front end suffered sigificant damage in the crash.
Lohan is currently filming a Lifetime movie on the love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
“First and foremost, we’re concerned about the well-being of Lindsay and anyone else who may have been involved in the accident,” Lifetime spokesman Les Eisner said, adding, “Lindsay has been doing fantastic work on the set of `Liz and ****.’”
The accident is the latest driving related troubles for Lohan, who had her driver’s license restored in August 2010 after losing her driving privileges because of a pair of DUI arrests in 2008.
