James Blunt Ends “Beautiful” Career

James Blunt is well known for the hit song “You’re Beautiful.” His songs and albums have sold over 18 million copies.

He has received five Grammy nominations, two Brit Awards, and an variety of other industry recognitions. Despite the sales figures, awards, and world tours, Blunt has received much criticism in the media and online from his home country.

The 38-year-old has now decided to retire from his musical career.

Blunt announced his intentions at the opening of the new nightclub, Barbarella, in London. The announcement came as a surprise to attendees and other fans. He intends to take a break from both performing and writing songs.

“I just want to take some time out for myself,” James told Mail Online at a nightclub event in West London. “I haven’t got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I’ve spent a lot of time in Ibiza, where I have a villa.”

Blunt took the summer off after an international tour supporting his latest album. The tour for “Some Kind of Trouble” finished in 2011.

Blunt, in a recent interview, said this:

“I just want to take some time out for myself. I haven’t got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I’ve spent a lot of time in Ibiza, where I have a villa.”

Blunt wishes to take advantage of his success. He cites his enjoyment of time spent with girlfriend Sofia and other pals as a reason for his retirement.
