Helen Flanagan Breaks Down after Leaving the Jungle
TV Network ITV faced more questions over its treatment of the celebrities taking part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! following the exit of actress Helen Flanagan from the jungle camp. 22 year old Flanagan broke down and refused to take part in three planned live interviews after being voted out of the jungle by viewers.
At the end of her 17 day stint in the jungle the former Coronation Street actress became emotional after being reunited with her mother. Usually contestants appear on live TV shows to discuss their time in the jungle the morning after being evicted; Flanagan refused to appear and locked herself in her hotel room until finally giving an interview on ITV1’s Lorraine.
Flanagan claimed her time on the show had been harder than she expected; particularly after being nominated to complete seven consecutive bushtucker trials during her short time in the jungle.
A source said: “Helen is exhausted. She was distraught about leaving the jungle and cried her eyes out once the cameras stopped rolling.
“The emotions are taking their toll. Yesterday she started to feel really ill, and a doctor was called to her room to treat her.
“She is now resting, but it doesn’t help that she now thinks she has been nationally humiliated. She feels hated by the public.
“Her parents, Paul and Julia, are trying to console her, but there isn’t much they can say to help. She is bitterly disappointed to have been kicked off.”
The meltdown of Helen Flanagan follows the exit of Brian Conley from the show for medical reasons; after undergoing tests Conley was diagnosed with malnutrition and exhaustion by Australian doctor’s. The treatment of contestants on I’m a Celebrity has now been called into question by some media watchdogs.
Meanwhile, if you’re Flanagan deprived, you may want to pick up this moths issue of FHM.
The mag features the former Coronation Street actress in its annual “Hottest Women On Planet Earth” calendar – wearing just a little cardigan, skimpy knickers and a pair of stockings.
The 22-year-old acappears alongside a selection of other lovelies, including Kelly Brook, Jorgie Porter, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Emily Atack.
In an interview with the mag, she talks about her romance with Manchester City footballer Scott Sinclair and how how she dislikes the term ‘WAG’.
She said: “I don’t hate being called a WAG but it’s not what I am, I’m an actress, I like to model and I like doing my own thing.”
Helen poses as “November” in the calendar, which comes free with this month’s edition of the mag – on sale now.
