Lucy Lawless Dodges Jail
“Xena: Warrior Princess” actress Lucy Lawless dodged a hefty monetary fine, as well as jail time, after she was found guilty of trespassing. Lawless entered a guilty plea to trespassing charges after an incident last February.
Lawless, along with other Greenpeace protestors, trespassed on the Noble Discoverer, an oil-drilling ship. The group camped out on the ship and Lawless climbed nearly 200 feet to the top of one of the ship’s towers. From the tower, Lawless delivered a 77 hour long campaign of Twitter updates to fans and supporters.
Lawless could have been sentenced to more than five years in prison and forced to pay fines in excess of $500,000. The actress-turned-activist had no regrets as she stood before the judge.
“For the first time in my life, I put my body and reputation on the line to stand up for my beliefs and do the right thing,” Lawless said.
She was sentenced to pay a $547 fine and to serve 120 hours of community service.

Hypocrite. Her entire way of life would not be possible without the resource harvesting she rails against. Go live in a shack in the woods – preferably in a northern climate – and don’t use any of the conveniences or comforts of modern life.
