Jerry “The King” Lawler cleared to Wrestle after Heart Attack

Jerry “The King” Lawler has been providing entertainment for wrestling fans since 1970. He is one of the most well known wrestlers and has worked with the WWE for the past 21 years. Currently, he works both as a wrestler and a commentator for the WWE under the “Raw” brand.

On September 10, 2012, during an episode of “Raw”, it was quite a shock to WWE fans when they witnessed the wrestling legend collapse from a heart attack on live television. Lawler’s commentating partner, Michael Cole, continued his job commenting on the show but also made sure to update fans about Lawler’s condition. Two months after the incident, Lawler was back behind the commentating desk. Even though he was granted permission to continue his commentating work, it was not clear how long it would be for him to get permission to get back in the ring.

Less than six months after the heart attack, the WWE Hall of Fame inductee has been cleared to return to the wrestling ring. His return date has been set for May 25 at a wrestling event in Florida. He will pair up with another WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Dory Funk Jr, who has stated that it is an honor to be part of Lawler’s return.
