When veteran fashion model Naomi Campbell was questioned by the host of an Australian morning talk show about Vogue Magazine’s decision to put Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on an upcoming cover, she burst out laughing. Then Naomi demurely said she didn’t want to offer any comment, insisting it was best for her to be politically correct about the situation. The host took that to mean she wasn’t impressed by magazine editor Anna Wintour’s decision to use the A-list singer and reality star couple as cover models.
But Naomi made sure to mention the fact that she has been a fashion model for 28 years, having appeared on numerous Vogue covers throughout that time, leaving the audience to surmise she didn’t think much of giving the soon to marry Kim and Kanye the spotlight as Vogue cover models. Naomi said it was Wintour’s right to decide who is or isn’t on the cover of one of the most respected fashion magazines in the world, contending she is only a fashion model with 28 years experience. During another news media radio interview, Naomi was more blunt in her criticism of Nicole Trunfio as disrespectful of Campbell’s longevity, for implying she was passé.
