Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has now confirmed that the next episode of the show will see Clara Oswald bowing out for good.
As reported by the DailActress Jenna Coleman, who plays the Time Lord’s current companion, announced back in the summer that she was quitting the show ahead of starring in new ITV drama Victoria.
And Peter has now revealed that this Saturday’s episode, Face The Raven, will be her swansong.
‘It’s a sad one, gripping and very strange,’ he said of the show. ‘And it’s the end of the line for Clara Oswald played by Jenna Coleman who’s been my companion for the last two years.’
He added: ‘It’s the end of her story. I don’t want to go into the details of it, but it’s sad.’
He also remained non-committal when asking if the character could return, saying: ‘Sometimes people can’t come back. Sometimes things happen that they can’t come back from.’
Clara first appeared in the seventh series of the show as companion to Capaldi’s predecessor Matt Smith, following on from Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill.
