Brits to spend £240m on Royal baby arrival

Prince William and his bride, Kate Middleton, are expecting their first child, which will be third in the royal succession line. In much the same manner society rushed to mimic the actions of Princess Diana when she became “with child,” British citizens are flocking to copy Kate’s style of maternity dress and are outfitting their own children with similar items and fashions to that of the royal couple.

Nothing, it seems, is off the table, as it relates to commemorative items marking the royal day of birth. Everything from china to clothing is currently being peddled, in response to the merchandise outcry.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents are all making waves with the sale of royal, baby-related items. Some of which are available at royal estates, such as Highgrove.

The influx of sales may do more than bolster the British economy. It is also being hailed as a means to unite the people.

Kim Kardashian, “Can’t believe it. It’s so crazy!”

She gave birth this Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Reportedly, Kardashian, 32, had given birth five weeks before her infant’s due dates, and sources informed E! News that the baby girl weighs just below 5 pounds. The baby was delivered naturally, and there were no complications.

“Can’t believe it. It’s so crazy!” Krdashian expressed to Ryan Seacrest, just after he’d emailed her congratulating her on her daughter’s birth. Seacrest released her comments on his Tuesday radio show, and spoke with Ken Baker from E! News. Ken Baker responded by informing Seacrest that both Kim and the baby are healthy.

“This was not planned,” he said. “It came on very quickly and when it was time for the baby to come, it was time for the baby to come.” Ken Baker had additional comments on the event, and excitedly added that, “the whole family was dispersed all over the place.”

However, Baker confirmed that, “[The infant] is healthy and Kim is doing well.” When asked about the family’s morale, he added, “There’s a great sense of relief. Everyone is very happy for her and Kim is relieved [because] this was a very stressful time.”

While the world awaits the first photos of Kardashian and Kanye West’s baby girl, family and close friends have been visiting and one tells PEOPLE that she takes after her mama in the looks department.

“The baby is beyond beautiful. Everything we expected,” socialite, model and Tres Glam jewelry designer Brittny Gastineau, who visited Kardashian at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles over the weekend and Monday night, says.

Since welcoming her daughter into the world on Saturday, the congratulatory wishes have been pouring in for Kardashian. Over the weekend, her BFF reality star Jonathan Cheban told PEOPLE, “Kim is doing amazing and couldn’t be happier.”

Shark Attacks At Surfside

According to sources, the shark bit his left leg.

“I hope this teenager grows up to be a cop and gets my back,” EMT Zuandra Monnat said. “He fought off this shark. It bit his leg and he literally tore this shark off of him and that’s how he got the lacerations to his hands.”

The boy then bravely fought off the shark by hitting it and pulling it off of himself, which in turn caused lacerations to his hand.

The other kids from his church group helped him back to shore after the attack, where he was treated by police officer who had been patrolling the beach. He was then taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Hospital in Houston.

Thankfully the boy’s injuries were not life threatening, and he is in stable condition. He will need some surgeries, however, according to his mother.

The shark took a large portion of his calf and the bite to his hand caused nerve damage.

Monnat happned to be on the beach at the time was one of the first resonders.

“Initially, I saw a boy who was brought onto the beach,” she said. “As far as his injury goes, he was bitten on the leg. He had multiple lacerations on his hand. We bandaged that up using a multi-trauma, which is basically a very big, large band-aid and we got him over to Life Flight as quick as we could.”

“Any time that you have that you actually use on a day-to-day basis, being your hands or your head or anything like that, it’s more of a quality-of-life situation,” Monnat said. “We want him to be able to have all the mobility of his hands and not lose with his hands. Everything was connected, it was just more of wanting to make sure everything continued to work properly.”

This is the first shark attack at Surfside Beach in over 25 years. In fact, in Brazoria County there have only been a total of two attacks in that time. It was unknown what type of shark it was that attacked the boy.

“They’ve had shark attacks on the county beach and in Freeport, but here in Surfside, this is the first one in 25, 30 years,” Surfside Assistant Police Chief Gregg Bisso said.

Police do not plan to issue a warning to residents until they determine the cause.

Nathan Teklemariam and Carson Rinehart Butt Dial 911 During Heist

The operator responded as per standard operating procedures asking if any assistance was needed. However, the operator quickly realized the call was made by accident and listened in on the conversation.

In a span of 30 minutes, a conversation was recorded where one of the young men expresses a powerful urge to smoke marijuana followed by his direction to be handed the “bolt and … the hammer just in case”. The operator overhead the smashing of a window and their flight.

The police were phoned and the young men were tracked down. The officer, knowing full well that he had the suspects pulled over, asked them a loaded question basically inquiring if the car the men were driving contained any contents that ought not to be there. The two men now each face three charges of conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and breaking and entering.

Hopefully, the men can take this as a wake-up call.

Jackie Stallone Aware Of Not So Normal Looks

Sylvester Stallone’s mother Jackie was recently interviewed by Reveal Magazine and admits the obvious: she’s had too much cosmetic surgery.

The astrologer and reality TV star confesses that her physical face has an abnormal appearance. Stallone even likens the shape of her cheeks to that of one of the television chipmunks.

The 91-year-old woman says that Hollywood is only now coming to terms with the inevitable process of aging and fading physical beauty. As for herself, Stallone admits that the reality of aging likely came too late for her.

In an interview with Reveal magazine, even likening herself to a “chipmunk.

“I do, and actually I’ve got too much,” she replied when asked if she’s still going under the knife.

“I look like I’ve got a mouthful on nuts… I feel I look like a chipmunk.”

“I know it isn’t normal. The papers in London are the worst. The say, ‘She’s the world’s worst’, that I look like a pet bulldog. I really do. I’ve seen too much bad work,” she added.

She now deals with it by self-deprecation even referring to herself as having a “bulldog” face. Stallone spent much of the past 3.5 decades keeping a low profile behind her son’s explosive success starting with the classic film Rocky in 1976.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that she gained her own star power as an astrologer. She even made famous the art of discerning people’s fortunes from photographs of their derrieres in what she coined as “rumpology”.

Seven years ago, she made a guest appearance on the UK version of “Celebrity Big Brother”, but failed to gain much support. She was the first player eliminated from the competition after just four days.

Bear mauls man In Alaska: Man Was Feeding Bear BBQ Meat

Alaska Man Feeds Bear and Gets Mauled

Anchorage, AK – a local man appears to have been unwittingly making a case for nomination to the 2013 Darwin Awards when he encountered a bear while camping at Eklutuna Lake Campground. State Troopers say this past Saturday at 5PM, the man had been drinking when a bear came up to his campsite. It was then the man fed the bear some meat he had saved from a Church picnic & barbeque earlier, said Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen.

“He’d been drinking,” she said.

That was certainly not one of the man’s wisest choices ever.

The bear became irate and attacked the man leaving him “mauled”. However, in his case, he survived the attack.

The man didn’t even phone authorities for help. He was found by authorities bloodied up as he was washing himself off. It was at that point he was taken in for medical treatment and released. However, the police arrested him for illegally feeding the animals.

The bear responsible for the attack has not been found either. Thankfully, authorities do not believe it poses a safety risk to the public because it was provoked into to the attack by the camper.

The man threw a piece of meat at the bear, which ate it, she said. Then he offered another piece, she said.

“That’s when it kind of went ballistic,” she said.

Spokesman Ken Marsh said the bear was “pretty much goaded into the attack.

This comes just weeks after a local man was mauled to death by a rogue black bear.

Although an adult bear is quite capable of killing a human, American black bears typically avoid confronting humans when possible. Unlike grizzly bears, which became a subject of fearsome legend among the European settlers of North America, black bears were rarely considered overly dangerous, even though they lived in areas where the pioneers had settled. Black bears rarely attack when confronted by humans, and usually limit themselves to making mock charges, emitting blowing noises and swatting the ground with their forepaws. However, according to Stephen Herrero in his Bear Attacks: Their Causes and Avoidance, 23 people were killed by black bears from 1900 to 1980. The number of black bear attacks on humans is higher than those of the brown bear in North America, though this is largely because the black species considerably outnumbers the brown rather than greater aggressiveness.

The 51-year-old resident in this small town of 19,000 located along the US-Canadian border went postal on his neighbors over a long-running properly line dispute. Police received a 911 distress call that a man in a bulldozer was on a rampage destroying everything in his path.

The caller even admonished that police arrive with firearms. Swegle had begun running a bulldozer against his neighbor’s property. He thrust the powerful heavy machine into four homes and even managing to push one off of its foundation. He Hulk-smashed a pickup truck and played kick the cans with neighbor’s boats. Finally, in a move that is bound to have ingratiated himself further with city residents, he knocked down a power line which cut off electricity to thousands in the surrounding area. The scene was described as looking much like a combat zone.

Swegle must have bottled in his anger for some time before his volcanic-like temper set off. He was still looking mighty ornery when he appeared in court. He is being held on a bond of $1 million.

carvis Sutton calls 911 for kool aid

Jarvis Sutton didn’t receive the items he requested, but found police officers on his doorstep instead, who promptly placed him under arrest and transported him to the local jail under suspicion of misusing the 911 emergency call system which is a misdemeanor in the state, reports the Huff Post.

Police officials did not indicate if Sutton was already under the influence of either drugs or alcohol when he made the bogus 911 calls, but report that he continued to chew on the foam lining that covered the metal wire cage in the police cruiser.

Because Sutton could not come up with the sum of $150 to post bail, he remains incarcerated in the Pinellas County Jail. Sutton, unfortunately, is no stranger to being behind bars. Over the past 24 months, he has been arrested and jailed at least 7 different times.

There has been no further word if his 80 911 calls set a record in the county for an individual abusing the emergency call system by requesting anything other than legitimate emergency assistance.

Dorothy Baker says she was only protecting her two children when she daringly fought off an accused carjacker, punching him in the face and crashing her car into a pole to try and throw him out.

According to reports, after the 54-year old carjacker demanded that Baker drive him to her bank’s ATM so he could obtain money, Baker took swift action by punching him with her fist in the face and yelling at him to get out of the vehicle. Then she took evasive action by driving the van straight into a utility pole in the hopes that she could injure him.

“I told him he messed with the wrong witch,” Dorothy Baker told ABC of her frantic battle coursing the roads of Baytown, Texas.

“He popped up out of the backseat and said that if I didn’t want my kids to get hurt, that I would do exactly what he said,” Baker emotionally recalled.

Although she was cut in the process of wrangling the knife away from Ismael Martinez, Baker kept her cool. When the carjacker finally hopped out of the van, Baker managed to knock him over by striking him with her vehicle, keeping him immobile until she was able to dial 911 for police assistance.

Baker insists that she didn’t run over the carjacker intentionally, but police had to transport the seriously injured felon, who has a previous criminal record, to a nearby hospital for treatment. Baker’s husband and many fellow citizens praised her quick actions and Baker humbly explained she only did whatever she could to protect her boys.

Ismael Martinez, 54, faces felony charges for the attempted carjacking, adding to his previous wrap that includes rape and burglary convictions.

Miss Utah definitely stood out at Sunday’s Miss USA pageant, but probably not the way she wanted, as she awkwardly stumbled through her answer to a question about pay inequality.

The question posed by one of the judges was not difficult. Miss Utah was asked about gender inequality. Specifically, she was told that women are now the primary bread-winners in 40% of families with children yet these women earn less than their male counterparts. The pageant hopeful was then asked what this situation said about our nation’s society.

21 year old Marissa Powell proved that she might well be just a pretty face when she stammered out a circuitous answer that made no sense.

Chalk it up to nerves, but Powell stumbled over her words and provided a cringe-worthy response that included the phrase, “to create education better.”

“I think we can relate this back to education and how we are continuing to try to strive to,” she said, pausing, knowingly, that this wasn’t going well, before she flashed a smile and continued, “figure out how to create jobs right now.”

“That is the biggest problem, and I think especially the men are seen as the leaders of this, and so we need to try to figure out how to create education better so that we can solve this problem. Thank you.”

This year’s Miss Utah lost any hope of winning the Miss USA title when she tried to equate the problem with education and the need to create jobs. She ended with the now famous quote that “we need to create education better”.

Erin Brady, the 25-year-old Miss Connecticut, took the title, followed by Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord as first runner-up, Miss Illinois Stacie Juris as second runner-up, Powell as third runner-up, Miss Texas Ali Nugent as fourth runner-up and Miss South Carolina Megan Pinckney as fifth runner-up. Miss USA feeds into the Miss Universe competition, which this year will be held in Moscow.

But perhaps we should cut Miss Utah a little slack? As NPR writer Linda Holmes noted Monday, “This isn’t the kind of question that actually tests what you know; it’s basically a test of your ability to generate cow patties on command.”

Today these words have gone viral on the internet and Miss Utah is surely hiding her head in embarrassment.

During the Miss USA pageant on Sunday, Miss Utah Marissa Powell struggled to gather her thoughts to answer a question on the issue of women continuing to earn less money than men.
