In a subsequent incident, a similarly described man flashed himself to a young child. Residents became frustrated with the lack of response by local police and sprang into action when they confronted a man wearing a bandanna and matching the assailant’s description.

The man attempted to flee prompting the group to beat him with rocks. Police arrived and took the man into custody. He is 54-years-old. Despite having his face bloodied, he was not seriously injured.

The man was questioned and later released. He decided against filing assault charges saying that he understood the frustration of local residents. He also agreed to furnish police with a DNA sample so that he could be ruled out as the attacker. Residents say they have no choice but to take matters into their own hands because they police aren’t doing their job adequately.

Teen’s invention could charge cellphone in 20 seconds

“I developed a new supercapacitor, which is basically an energy storage device which can hold a lot of energy in a small amount of volume,” she told KPIX 5. The technology may also be able to speed up charging of automobile batteries, she said.

The invention is a battery based on a super-capacitor which can hold electrical charges over long periods of time and which can also be recharged in seconds, twenty to be exact. Using her device, cellphones may eventually enter an era where recharging will take seconds. Additionally, the super-capacitor can be recharged up to 10,000 times before it fails which is exactly 10x what standard cellphone batteries can handle.

The smaller size of the capacitor will certainly reduce the weight of cellphones and allow for more flexible form factors. Khare says that this device, based on nanotechnology, has the ability to be placed inside clothing or other fabrics giving it a flexibility traditional batteries do not have.

Khare said her current cellphone battery “always dies” which is a something many other people experience regularly.

According to Khare, the technology can be part of “rollup displays” and other fabrics as well. For the competition, she was able to power a light emitting diode (LED) using the battery and recharge her source within 15 to 20 seconds.

Record-setting python killed by knife-wielding Miami man (PHOTO)

The snake, a 128-pound female, began to coil its body against Leon’s leg and he asked his passengers to give him a knife from the car in order to kill the animal.

“Jason Leon’s nighttime sighting and capture of a Burmese python of more than 18 feet in length is a notable accomplishment that set a Florida record. The [commission] is grateful to him both for safely removing such a large Burmese python and for reporting its capture,” said Kristen Sommers, exotic species coordination section leader for the FFWCC.

Leon reports that he has experience in handling this type of python snake since he once kept them as pets.

After reporting his record-setting find to the Florida Wildlife Commission, Leon handed over the dead snake’s body to the University of Florida for further examination.

The length of the snake, at 18 feet and 8 inches long, surpassed the previous record for a python discovered in the Florida wilderness of 17 feet and 7 inches. The female caught and killed by Leon was not carrying any eggs. Florida officials have established a toll-free number to report python sightings.

Jessica Alba’s Street Fighter Is Just Too Cool

The term Hadouken is Japanese for “surge fist” or perhaps even “wave motion fist” which a special attack performed by the SF characters Akuma, Allen aka Soul Force, Dan Hibiki, Gouken, Kairi, Ken, Ryu, and Sean aka Hadou Burst.

If the photograph is staged correctly, the persons receiving the Hadouken get carried off as if by special effects. Alba has been posting pictures of her SF Hadouken since April on Instagram. The latest photograph shows her husband Cash Warren successfully thrusting Alba nearly two feet off the ground with a well-formed Hadouken punch.

Alba has truly been enjoying learning the art of Street Fighting in recent weeks. As for acting roles, the long awaited sequel to the 2005 Neo-Noir thriller Sin City has entered post-production. The movie is entitled “Sin City: A Dame to Die For” and will center heavily on Jessica Alba. Alba played a lesser role besides Bruce Willis in the original film.

She also has a sequel to 2010′s Machete film which also entered post-production and is called “Machete Kills”.

Image taken by the Miura Dolphins on May 16, 2013 shows 80-year-old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura (R) with his son Gota before his ascent of Mount Everest in Nepal. Miura has begun his ascent of Mount Everest, his website said, in a bid to become the oldest man to reach the roof of the world.

In 1970, he skied down a portion of Mount Everest that stands at 26,246 feet above sea-level. Miura is enjoying life to the fullest and even has addition aspirations for future journeys should he live long enough. He told reporters that if he can live until age 85, he would like to ski down Cho Oyu from an altitude of 26,906.

What makes his journey all the more remarkable is that he has endured four heart surgeries in his lifetime. Now, Miura is not trifling with his health. He has trained properly, and a heart doctor is part of the climbing team that is accompanying Miura. The doctor will monitor his health condition throughout the trip.

Police free man stuck in McDonald’s baby chair: Welcome to Internet Fame

The young man decided to squeeze himself into the baby high chair rather than sit in any of the other vacant seats.

The man, who as yet is unidentified, had allegedly been drinking prior to entering the eatery, which may explain his poor judgment in thinking he could fit his large adult posterior into a space designed for a child.

Local police officers were called to the scene after the man failed to extricate himself from the high chair after numerous attempts.

The officers provided enough leverage to pull the man from his temporary prison while other customers took videos of the proceedings that were immediately posted on the Internet.

Other than creating quite the commotion for everyone in the diner, the young man was released with any criminal charges pending. McDonald’s took a tongue in cheek attitude about the whole incident, indicating it was aware of the young man’s unusual dilemma and taking the opportunity to remind parents that the high chairs should only be used under adult supervision.

This is not the first incident where a grown up has gotten trapped in a highchair. In January of 2013, Oxfordshire firefighters rescued Serena Curtis, who managed to get herself wedged into her 3 year-old son’s highchair. Thanks to the woman’s friend Jade Dickerson, the event was captured on video.

And in March A 19 year old woman, who was drinking and partying at the time, needed help from the fire department after she became trapped in a baby’s highchair. According to ‘The Mirror’, the woman managed to get herself stuck in the highchair had to call firefighters for help.

Braxton Bielski managed to take down an 800-pound alligator measuring a little over 14 feet in length with just one shot while hunting in the Daughtrey Wildlife Management Area near Katy, Texas.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department offers only a limited number of special permits for alligator hunting every year and this was the first year that Bielski managed to obtain a permit for legal hunting.

Every hunter must also attend a two-hour orientation in order to learn the proper legal techniques for hunting the massive creatures which hide in many of the watery coves throughout its State Parks.

The alligator bagged by Bielski is thought to be between 30 and 50 years old. Its weight and size also made it a record catch for the first-time hunter. His father Troy, who is a police officer in the Houston area, accompanied him on the alligator hunt.

Troy Bielski also managed to bag a gator, although his female catch only measured a much shorter 10 feet in length. Both father and son each posed with their trophy for a photograph at day’s end.

Kirstie Alley Slams Creepy CEO Of Abercrombie & Fitch

Kirstie Alley slams retail chain Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries for his controversial remarks in a recently resurfaced 2006 Salon interview, in which he said, “In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids…. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”

According to the Huff Post, the actress, 62, told Entertainment Tonight,” Abercrombie clothes are for people who are cool and look a certain way and are beautiful and are thin’ and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. That would make me never buy anything from Abercrombie.”

“I just heard [about] this guy from Abercrombie & Fitch today. This dude from Abercrombie & Fitch — he’s the CEO — what a [expletive]!” Alley told “Entertainment Tonight” on Tuesday.

Nor will her two kids, William True Stevenson, 20, and Lillie Price Stevenson, 18.

“He says Abercrombie clothes are for people that are cool and who look a certain way and are beautiful and who are thin and blah, blah, blah,” she continued. “He goes on and on and on. That would make me never buy anything from Abercrombie even if I was cool and thin. I got two kids in that [age] bracket that will never walk in those doors because of his view of people.”

Us Weekly notes, Alley isn’t the only celebrity to slam the store, which doesn’t carry sizes above a 10. Sophia Bush, on May 13, tweeted “Such a letdown to see that Abercrombie, a company geared toward teens, lets their CEO speak like this…”

Backlash against the company has been growing steadily since the 2006 interview resurfaced. A petition on Change.org was started to compel the store to stock larger sizes; teenage critics protested outside a Chicago Abercrombie & Fitch store on Monday, May 13; and in a viral video campaign, “#FitchTheHomeless,” filmmaker Greg Karber attempts to “re-brand” the company by giving its clothes to homeless people.

“It couldn’t have happened at a better time,” Cerezo, a management consultant, told reporters. “I just thought, this is how God works.”

Cerezo said his wife was cleaning out the kitchen and mentioned the lottery tickets that had accumulated over the past month in a glass cookie jar.

“It was either take them, get them checked, or she was going to trash them that night,” he said.

Cerezo said he took the tickets to a 7-Eleven in Aurora, Ill., and scanned them. The first eight or nine tickets weren’t winners.

“The following one was $3, so I was excited. I get to pay for my Pepsi. And then the last one said file a claim,” he said, which meant it was worth at least $600.

Cerezo went online and found that the numbers matched the Feb. 2 Lotto drawing.
“As each number kept matching, the smile kept going higher and higher. And when I realized we had all six numbers, it was that shocking moment of, ‘Whoa, can this really be?”” he said in a news conference Wednesday. “Fast forward to the next day, Monday: Called in sick from work, went down into Chicago. It’s one of feelings where it’s okay if they fire me.”
After he waited about half an hour, Cerezo said lottery officials brought him into a room and said his ticket was worth $4.85 million.

Just three months earlier, Cerezo appeared at a foreclosure hearing where a judge gave him a few more months to find a new home before they would be evicted.
“That was on Feb. 12, so we were sitting on $4 million at that time in this jar,” he said. “We will have our home paid off.”

Cerezo said February holds special significance for him and his family because his daughter Savannah was born in that month. She died from a sudden illness last year at 14.

Chef killed over meal: Chef Miki Nozawa Killed Over Meal

Two guests felt that their dish was not up to par and confronted the chef about it, refused to pay for their meal, and asked for a refund. The guests ended up leaving the restaurant without paying.

However, they saw Nozawa later on that night at a bar and their argument turned into an altercation. During this altercation, Nozawa is said to have received a blow to the head.

Nozawa, 57, was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries sustained in the altercation. It has been said that he had brain damage and suffered from internal bleeding, but an autopsy is being preformed to figure out the exact cause of death.

Nozawa’s unnamed ex-wife told German newspaper Sylter Rundschau that her husband died of “severe brain injuries and internal bleeding” he sustained during a Sunday night altercation.

“My ex-husband was not aggressive, absolutely good-natured man,” she said, according to a Huffington Post translation of the report. “He never would have started a fight.”

“We have heard that the men wanted to get back their ten euros for the food. We see this as a racist act,” she said, claiming that the chef had been called a “chink” while working on the island.

Nozawa’s sister, who lives in Berlin, told the German paper Sylt Rundschau they were suspicious of the police’s failure to make an arrest.

“It almost felt as if they would protect someone,” she said, and implored employees of the bar to come forward with their accounts of the confrontation.

“My ex-husband was not aggressive, he would never have started a fight,” said You Nozawa, who came with their 15-year-old son to Sylt after Nozawa’s death. “He never would have started a fight.”

“We have heard that the men wanted to get back their ten euros for the food,” she said. “We see this as a racist act.”

The Huff Post points out a conflicting report by German tabloid Bild says the two suspects left the restaurant without paying and later ran into the chef as they went into the table dance venue “Z1″ and the fight escalated. The suspects are said to have been “intoxicated.”

The AAP reports that the two were arrested but then later released due to lack of evidence. They are, however, still being questioned by police.

Nozawa was known for his Japanese-Italian fusion dishes and had cooked for Mikhail Gorbachev, Phil Collins and Denzel Washington.
