Eminem suing Facebook For $150k

The Huff Post writes:

Eight Mile Style filed a federal lawsuit in Detroit on Monday alleging that a 30-second Facebook ad broadcast online last month copied music from Eminem’s 2000 song “Under the Influence.”

The Detroit Free Press (http://on.freep.com/10LFB2N) reports that the ad was featured in a webcast by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to announce Facebook Home, an interface for Android phones.

The complaint says Portland, Ore., ad agency Wieden+Kennedy copied Eminem’s music “in an effort to curry favor” with Facebook by catering to Zuckerberg’s personal likes and to “invoke the same irreverent theme” of the song.

“Not one person, however, who heard the Facebook advertisement, and commented about it on the blogosphere, noted any similarity between [it] and any Michael Jackson song,” the complaint notes. “To the contrary, it is clear that the Airplane advertisement copied directly the Eminem/D12 Composition, and ordinary observers have so concluded.”

Eight Mile Style is reportedly seeking up to $150,000 per infringement.

Amanda Bynes Flight: Google Search Is Not Official ID

The Daily Mail reports, The actress was then informed that per TSA regulations she would not be able to fly without it, at which point Amanda directed the Google, with sources reporting that she screamed ‘I’m Amanda Bynes!’

The pilot then reportedly called a representative from the airline to see if they could allow the faded starlet onto the flight, but the jet company was adamant that no special treatment was to be given.

She was not able to take the flight.

Amanda hasn’t had an easy time of late.

Bynes, who recently posted racy photos of herself to Twitter, revealed last month that she had a nose job performed several years ago. She indicated it was done to remove a webbing of skin from between her eyes and has made her feel much more attractive.

Bynes, 27, stated that she is unhappy when the media posts older photos of her because she looks prettier with the newer nose. She has also said the surgery was one of the best decisions she has ever made, and it has given her confidence.

“Intouch used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I’ve asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don’t look like that anymore! I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes. I wasn’t going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don’t want old photos used anymore!” she tweeted May 5.

“I’m so sick of magazines and blogs using old photos! When will they stop?” Bynes continued. “I will never look like that again! Having surgery was the most amazing thing for my confidence!”

Bynes has attracted a large amount of attention recently on Twitter due to posting photos of herself in which she appears scantily clad or topless.

She has also tweeted about how she has gained weight and needs to lose 35 pounds. Another photo shows her with a half-shaved head, which Bynes claims is similar to a friend’s haircut. The photos have created concern among fans and drawn ridicule from around the Internet, with some people questioning Bynes’ mental health.

The actress has appeared in a string of televisions shows and low budget movies. She officially retired from acting in 2011 so she could focus on fashion design.

The former beauty queen, who sky-rocketed to fame during the BCS National Championship game as the rediculoly good looking girlfriend of quarterback A.J. McCarron, sparked controversy on Wednesday when she revealed that she only consumes a measly 1,120 calories a day in her eating diary, which she explains as being about “self control.”

Webb told People that she keeps her 5’11″ figure lean by keeping a strict diet of 1,120 calories made up of three meals and two snacks. She intersperses cardio and weight training at least three times each week.

“It’s all about self control,” Webb said. She also avoids bread and sugar. After long modeling shoots, though, Webb allows herself a cheat or two: “I usually go for all-American buffalo wings and French fries.”

“I try my hardest not to even consider getting something like pasta,” she tells People magazine. “It’s all about self-control.”

“I cut out any type of bread product, and cake, cookies, bagels. When I eat a lot of sugar, I tend to bloat more,” she adds.

According to NHS, an average man needs around 2,500 calories a day to maintain his weight. For an average woman, that figure is around 2,000 calories a day. These values can vary depending on age and levels of physical activity, among other factors.

S.W.A.T. Star Dies At 87 (PHOTO)

A respected actor for more than 60 years, Forrest splashed onto the scene in 1953 as New Star of the Year at the Golden Globes for the film So Big, opposite Jane Wyman.

TV Guide writes:

Forrest soon transitioned to TV series such Playhouse 90, Lux Video Theater, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. He became a fixture in the American Western genre. His classic Western TV roles included Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Virginian.

The actor signed under contract to the BBC in 1965 — as was more common in that era. He starred as John Mannering, an antique dealer/secret agent, in the hit British crime drama The Baron — the first color series on British TV.

From legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling, Forrest starred on the ABC action show S.W.A.T. for two seasons. The series was the basis for the 2003 film of the same name. Forrest’s later TV roles included Dallas, Malibu, and Gunsmoke: Return to Dodge.

Forrest is survived by his wife of 65 years, Christine, sons Michael, Forrest and Stephen and four grandchildren.

Women wearing hats emblazoned with “**** Cancer”—a pink ribbon strategically placed where the “C” would be in the “F” word—were kicked out of the King of Prussia Mall on Sunday, 6ABC reports.

According to reports, Zakia and her sisters wore the hats at the King of Prussia Mall while they were shopping for funeral dresses for the funeral of their mother, who died last week … of cancer.

“The logo, the saying, is the only expression that I feel is strong enough to defeat the word, defeat the disease,” said Zakia Clark, whose 51-year-old mother, Jackie Underwood, died last week.

Where the story turns slightly absurd when you realize—as the sisters pointed out—that stores in the mall carry a variety of profane clothing objects. King of Prussia Mall is fine selling you such apparel, apparently, as long as you keep it in a (metaphorical) brown paper bag until it leaves their campus. “To say they don’t want that in their mall, but they sell it… it just wasn’t right,” said Makia Underwood. “It wasn’t right to kick us out, and you sell things with curse words on them.”

Security approached and asked them to take the hats off or leave.

“I said, ‘I’m not leaving. I spend money here and I’m not going to leave,’” said Zakia.

“He said, ‘You know what? Shut your mouth. That was your cue to stop shopping.’ So I removed my hat,” she said.

Mall officials defended their decision to keep the patrons—or their hats, at least—curse free. But they also expressed condolences and offered to donate to the anti-cancer charity of the sisters’ choice.

Management told 6ABC: “The mall is first and foremost a family destination. Certain words and images, whether obvious or suggested, spoken or written on clothing, are considered profane and can offend many people.”

Cashier sells self $1M ticket: Powerball winnings come in first week on job

According to ABC News, Mary Jane Hart works each weekend at the Hartland Pit Stop in Doniphan, Mo.

The part-time cashier sold herself a Powerball ticket when she came into work Saturday. The jackpot had reached $600 million.

“I’ve always wanted to win a jackpot so that I could go to way more Nascar races than I go to, which is a lot,” she said.

She used the numbers of Nascar drivers to fill out her Powerball ticket, which she checked only after getting a call from work.

“Someone had called me and told me that there was a winning ticket sold at the store, so I went to the convenience store at Poplar Bluff and checked my ticket and it said I was a winner,” said Hart.

She matched every number but the Powerball, meaning she was now $1 million richer.

In addition to going to “a lot more” NASCAR races, Hart also plans to share her winnings with her children, specifically her son, David, who has severe disabilities stemming from a car accident when he was 17.

“Last week his Jeep wouldn’t run so I had to take him to get groceries and run errands,” Hart said. “I told him I plan on buying him a vehicle that will start every morning.”

“He started crying,” she said.

Hart says she also plans to use the money to take a Hawaiian vacation, “just as quick as my boss will let me take a week.”

Her coworkers at the convenience store couldn’t be happier.

“She’s a wonderful lady and a hard worker, so I’m glad to see it went to somebody deserving,” said cashier Sara Barfield.

Despite winning the jackpot, hart says she’ll keep working both of her jobs.

“He asked me if I might be quitting, and I said no,” said Hart.

She also plans to keep playing the lottery, just as she always has.

It’s nice to hear that the cashier who sold herself a $1 million ticket will have more than enough cash for her race passion and her family.

According to the Post, “Operation Swill” was concocted at a New Jersey bar.

As many as 29 bars in the area are accused of putting questionable substances in their alcholoc.

Although the specific bar has not been named, TGI Fridays locations in central and northern New Jersey are among the many that have had 1,000 bottles of alcohol confiscated by authorities for testing, state Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa said.

“This alleged scheme is a dishonest ruse to increase profits and is a slap in the face of the consumer,” Chiesa said.

According to the Post, within seven days each bar must turn over records of how much each patron was overcharged and provide employment history for their workers.

The Post writes:

The investigation started after the state began receiving more complaints than usual about possibly mislabeled drinks, said the director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Michael Halfacre. An informant with knowledge of the industry contacted the agency in the fall to help in the investigation, he said.

In January and February, investigators went to 63 establishments they suspected were scamming liquor customers. They ordered drinks neat — that is, without ice or mixers — and then covertly took samples for testing.

Of 150 samples collected, 30 were not the brand as which they were being sold.

TGI Fridays Inc. said in a statement it’s working with the franchisee and owner of the restaurants to investigate the allegations, which it called serious.

Rubbing alcohol is often used to disinfect, to bring down fever and to soothe skin and it is made of 70 percent isopropyl alcohol in water. The ingredient used isopropyl is twice toxic and has a high effect on the central nervous system. It causes alcohol poisoning which leads to vomiting, confusion and slow breath.

No health problems were reported as a result of the bar serving rubbing alcohol.

Rapper faked own death? Is Tim Dog Still Alive

The almost unbelievable case unfolded last week, when a woman named Esther Pilgrim claimed that Dog, born Timothy Blair, had faked his death to avoid paying tens of thousands of dollars in court ordered debts. When his death was reported, he was in the course of paying off $19,000 to Pilgrim, as ordered after his conviction for grand larceny.

According to MTV News:

On Tuesday (May 21) a judge in Desoto County, Mississippi issued an arrest warrant for rapper Tim Dog … which is interesting, considering the notorious “F— Compton” MC supposedly died in February.

However, according to the Desoto County District Attorney’s office, a death certificate has never been filed, and no one seems to know where Tim Dog — real name Timothy Blair — was buried. Which means, in their eyes, he is still very much alive, and may have faked his death to avoid court-mandated payments to a woman he stole $32,000 from in 2011.

“I need proof. I need a death certificate showing that he’s dead, because as far as I’m concerned, he’s alive,” prosecutor Steven Jubera told Memphis news channel 3 WREG. “Nobody said where he died, nobody said where he was buried, which is very odd for an obituary.”

Blair plead guilty to grand larceny two years ago and was given five years’ probation. A judge also ordered him to repay $19,000 to a Mississippi woman he defrauded in a financial scheme within the probation period, but that woman says the payments stopped when he was reported dead in February. Suspicious, she sent a friend down to Atlanta, where Blair allegedly died, to find a death certificate, but that search came up empty.

Tim Dog was best known for 1991 diss track, **** Compton, aimed at Dr Dre and NWA, which was instrumental in sparking the US east coast/west coast battles of the 1990s.
