The Grace Digital Xlink Cellular Bluetooth Gateway is a truly unique product. It comes during a time when many people use their cell phone as their primary phone. Some people do not even have a home phone anymore. Cell phones have trouble in the house at times though, which is something the Xlink Cellular Bluetooth Gateway comes to fix.

The Xlink is design in the form of a little black box basically. What it does, is it allows you to place your cell phone in the location of your house that gets the best signal. You then hook up the Xlink to your home phone, and your home phone now received all calls that your cell phone receives.

It basically turns your home phone into a Bluetooth headset in a sense.

It is not the coolest looking device, but it is small enough that you can easily tuck it away behind your home phone if you do not want it on display for all to see. The front has the power as well as error lights, while the top has three buttons for the various cell phone lines.

You also have a phone jack, charger jack, and USB port. The USB port allows you to connect it to your computer for future firmware upgrades, tones, etc.

The set-up of the device is extremely simple. All you do is plug the device into a power supply, then connect it to a home phone. From here all you have to do is set your Bluetooth-enabled phone to pairing mode, and it will pick up the Xlink.

Once you hit connect, you are good to go.

We paired three phones to the device at once, and received and made calls on all three without any issue at all. This makes for a nice office tool as all can receive calls from different phone lines on the same device. Each line has a distinctive ring pattern as well so you know who the call is coming in from.

The device also supports caller ID as well as speed-dialing, voice mail, call waiting, etc.

Personally, this worked great in our dbTechno set-up, as the cell phone reception is not the best. This allowed us to leave our phones near the window, and receive great reception via a home phone.

The price may be a bit steep, but if you want a solution for a home phone line, without having to actually subscribe to a land-line, this is a great buy!

Final Score: 8.0
