Microsoft Bringing Sync Voice Technology To Hyundai, Kia Cars

Boston (dbTechno) - Microsoft has signed deals with both Hyundai and Kia to bring their Sync voice technology to both car manufacturers this year. This will start in November when the exclusive deal they currently have with Ford expires.
The system, as many know, is called Sync.
Sync uses an ARM-based system which runs Windows Mobile for Automotive. It features voice recognition which allows you to do a variety of thing such as change the music currently playing, make a phone call, etc.
There are also some new features set to debut with Sync in these cars, Vehicle Health Reports, as well as 911 Assist.
In the U.S. Sync is currently used in the Ford Focus and Fusion, and has proven to be a huge success even though it is a $400 option.
In Europe it is available in the Fiat cars.
We will have to wait and see just what Hyundai and Kia choose to do with the Sync technology.
