The new Blu-ray player is called the LG BD300 Network Blu-ray Disc Player.

It is expected that LG will release the new player in the U.S. this coming September.

As of this point, there is no word yet as to what the actual price point of the device is going to be.

Allan Jason, VP of sales and marketing for LG in the U.S. stated though that the player is going to be far below $500.

On top of being able to play Blu-ray movies, the new player will have a network jack in the back to hook it to a home network, allowing it worth with Netflix.

This is the latest move by Netflix to get more in-home entertainment to subscribers without having to mail out any discs. A move last month had them signing a deal to distribute movies by streaming them over the Internet to any Microsoft Xbox 360 console.
