Former PS3 Game Monster Hunter 3 Now Wii Exclusive
October 11, 2007
Boston (dbTechno) - Nintendo made the major announcement on Wednesday that the upcoming Capcom game Monster Hunter 3, the next installment in the Monster Hunter franchise, will be exclusive to the Wii and no longer be coming to the PS3.
Capcom stated in the past that Monster Hunter 3 would be headed for the Sony PS3 console and it was also believed that a version was in the works for the Sony PSP.
In the past the Monster Hunter franchise has been a regular on both the PlayStation 2 and Sony PSP platforms but not anymore.
Capcom stated that the high cost of development on the PS3 made it a better business decision to develop and bring the title on the Nintendo Wii. This is a huge victory for hardcore gamers on the Wii.
Capcom stated that “Due to high development cost of titles on PS3, we have decided to switch the platform to which we release our Monster Hunter 3 title.”
Nintendo all announced better online strategy for the Wii and DS, and more games on the Wii Shop Channel.
