Sony Denies PlayStation Phone Rumors
November 23, 2007
Seattle (dbTechno) - Sony has come out and denied rumors that there was a PlayStation Phone in the works from the company which would combine the Sony PSP and a cell phone.
Jim Ryan, the Sony Computer Entertainment co-chief operating officer stated that it was “definitely plausible” that the Sony brands PlayStation and Ericsson could combine to create a cell phone which could combine the functionality of the Sony PSP and a cell phone.
A company spokesman has come out and stated though that “we do have talks with other arms of the Sony family about various topics but I can confirm we are not currently working together on the creation of a PlayStation Phone.”
The PSPhone rumors did spark a lot of public interest though which is something Sony is going to have to seriously look into as it appears that there is a great level of consumer demand for this type of high-tech product.
