Ubisoft Confirms Next-Gen Prince of Persia Coming Soon
January 24, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Ubisoft has confirmed that a new next-gen Prince of Persia is on the way and will likely come to both the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 with a release date somewhere between 2008 and 2009.
Ubisoft put out their third-quarter sales report for 2007 to 2008 and stated that Prince of Persia is in their 2008 to 2009 line-up.
The game has been rumored to be in developments for months now, dating all the way back to E3 last year when it was hinted that the game may actually be in good enough form to be shown to the gaming media.
Ubisoft though has kept things quiet on the Prince of Persia front as they are apparently making many changes to the series, the design of the game, and more.
The Prince is apparently going to have some incredible new weaponry, armor, fighting styles, etc as the game is said to focus much more on platforming this time out.
The 2008-2009 line-up from Ubisoft includes Tom Clancy’s Spinter Cell, Brothers in Arms, Fry Cry, Anno, and Prince of Persia for franchises.
There are also 5 new brands they will be pushing with Tom Clancy’s EndWar, a Tom Clancy Air Combat game, Haze, and a new snowboarding game based around Shaun White.
New games from Ubisoft will include new Petz, Imagine, and MyCoach games.
