GTA IV On PS3 Not Far Behind Xbox 360 In DLC

January 28, 2008

It was not too long ago that Microsoft announced that they had put out $50 million to Rockstar in order to secure exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. Now it seems that the $50 million they put out really won't secure them that much exclusivelyWashington (dbTechno) - It was not too long ago that Microsoft announced that they had put out $50 million to Rockstar in order to secure exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. Now it seems that the $50 million they put out really won’t secure them that much exclusively.

Reports are coming out that the majority of the downloadable content for the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV will be available on both the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3.

This is because the agreement Microsoft struck with Rockstar is apparently only for the two extra downloadable game chapters. Beyond that though the rest of the downloadable content will come to the PS3 as well.

The two downloadable game chapters will remain exclusive to the Xbox 360.

So how many chapters have been confirmed as coming to PS3? What’s your source?

This article is wrong. Rockstar doesn’t plan on doing more than 2 episodic contents. When GTA4 exclusivity didn’t work out due to Rockstar’s prior contract with Sony, MS opted for episodic content exclusivity instead. When that’s done, Rockstar moves to the next GTA game.

I don’t care which console gets what because i have both but i think you’ll find that this story is BS, Microsoft paid 50 million for the two exclusive DLC Episodes so they sure as hell wont be going to the PS3 and I can’t imagine Rockstar would pull a stunt like coding 2 more exclusive episodes without Sony stumping up the same amount.

Don’t care about which console gets what downloadable content. Just as long as the origianl game that I pay 59.99 for doesn’t dissapoint me. Just think 360 owners are going to have to pay for each episode from xbox market place. Good luck with that it will be like paying for deleted scenes or something. And ya know that it’s not going to be cheap. est. 19.99 for each and then you have a grand total of close to 100 dollars for the game lol. Just joking but wouldn’t put is past Microsoft.

I’m sure that there will be some sort of DLC for the PS3. Sony would’nt just sit there and let the PS3 version be totally inferior.
