Original Resistance Used Only 10% Of The Power Of PS3

Insomniac Games, the developer of the hit Sony PS3 launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man, has come out and stated that the original hit, which was actually touted for its incredible visuals, used only around 10% of the PS3's SPUs.Washington (dbTechno) - Insomniac Games, the developer of the hit Sony PS3 launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man, has come out and stated that the original hit, which was actually touted for its incredible visuals, used only around 10% of the PS3’s SPUs.

Insomniac has released an official document which reveals, in detail, the development process behind the original hit, Resistance: Fall of Man.

They have admitted in the report that they have no released that the game used only around 10% to 20% of the Sony PS3’s SPU.

So what does this actually mean?

Basically what Insomniac is stating here is that they left a lot of the power of the PS3 completely untapped in their original game. This bodes extremely well for the upcoming sequel, Resistance 2, which was stated to be released in early September according to reports from GameStop and abroad.

Insomniacgames.com has the entire PDF formatted document available for the world to see.

Regardless though, with this now known, it should be pretty much a fact that Resistance 2 is going to, from a technical standpoint at least, completely overpower the original.
