Sony Poised To Make 2008, The Year of the PS3

Boston (dbTechno) - According to an iSuppli analyst, Sony is poised to make 2008 the year of the PS3. It may be the Nintendo Wii that is currently on top of the gaming world, but things could be changing as many expect the PlayStation 3 to make quite a run this year.
Pamela Tufegdzic, analyst for iSuppli stated “2008 will be a turning year for the PS3. Sony is offering a better forthcoming software pipeline with blockbusuter titles like Gran Turismo 5, which will boost PS3 sales this year.” Read more

It’s time to face the facts, not everybody has the luxury of having a wireless network in their homes, and not everybody has one that can connect up to their video-game console. This has proven a bit of a problem for Nintendo Wii owners as the system only supports a wireless internet connection, unless you get an extra peripheral. Nyko has come out with exactly one of those peripherals, turning the Wii into a console that can accept a wired LAN connection, the Nyko Net Connect.
The Net Connect is very simple in its design, in that it basically just plugs into the USB port of your Wii, and allows you to plug in an Ethernet cable on the other end of the dongle, turning your Nintendo Wii into a console that can accept a wired internet connection. Read more

One of the biggest pains in regards to the Sony PS3 is the fact that, unless you buy some sort of adapter, the only way to charge your SIXAXIS controller is through a USB cord, causing you to keep your PS3 on at all times while charging. Nyko has come out with a solution to this with the Charge Station 2.
The Charge Station 2 is the second attempt from Nyko to come out with a peripheral to charge your PS3 controllers. This new Charge Base 2 allows users to charge up to 2 PS3 controllers at once through its nicely designed base. Read more
Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 Head For Holiday War

Boston (dbTechno) - If hype plays any factor in it at all, it appears that Gears of War 2 is shaping up to top the PS3 exclusive, Resistance 2, this holiday season. A voice actor who plays Marcus Fenix in Gears of War 2 has come out and touted the improvements over the original on the Xbox 360.

Wii Continues To Widen Sales Gap From PS3 In Japan

Boston (dbTechno) - The Nintendo Wii game console managed to outsell the Sony PlayStation 3 console by a ratio of 4 to 1 in Japan. The sales of the Wii over the PS3 were helped along with the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Japan, as the February sales have Nintendo smiling from ear to ear.
The game magazine publisher Enterbrain put out the results, stating that Nintendo sold 331,627 units of the Wii in the four weeks to February 24. Read more

Sharp, Hitachi Investigated for DS Screen Price Fixing

Boston (dbTechno) - Sharp and Hitachi are currently being accused and investigated for price-fixing profitable LCD screens and touch screens for the highly-popular Nintendo DS handheld gaming system.
Investigators from the Japanese government went to the offices of both companies in a joint operation to try and find proof that they had a scam in place to keep the price of the DS screens artificially high. Read more

No Typing Allowed In Text Chat For Mario Kart Wii

Washington (dbTechno) - Yesterday it was reported that Nintendo of Europe confirmed text chat for Mario Kart Wii. This confirmed that the game would not feature voice chat for its online play. New reports though state that the text chat of Mario Kart Wii will only consist of pre-determined phrases you can use, with no typing allowed!
Nintendo of America broke the news to IGN, stating that Wii owners will not be able to type in whatever text they desire with the help of a USB keyboard. Read more
