According to an announcement from Activision, new downloadable multiplayer maps are on the way for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360Seattle (dbTechno) - According to an announcement from Activision, new downloadable multiplayer maps are on the way for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.

Activision stated in the press release that the upcoming downloadable content will put gamers into unprecedented “hot zones of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales.”

Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, Robert Bowling, added “We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content. We’re excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.”

The new downloadable maps will release this spring over the Xbox Live Marketplace on the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation Network on the Sony PS3.
