PS3 Sells One Million Units in UK, Beats Out Xbox 360

Washington (dbTechno) - It is a day to celebrate for Sony as they have announced that the PS3 has sold over one million units in the UK. They stated they hit the one million mark in just 50 weeks with the PlayStation 3, compared to the Xbox 360 which took a bit longer to hit the one million units mark.
Sony has confirmed that they have sold over one million units in the UK of their Sony PlayStation 3 console.
Sony stated that they sold over one million units in Europe in under ten weeks back in June 2007.
They have now confirmed to GameIndustry.biz that they have sold over one million units in the UK alone.
Comparing this to the other consoles, it took 38 weeks for the Wii to hit the one million mark in the UK.
The PS3 hit the one million units sold mark in only 50 weeks, which beats out the Microsoft Xbox 360, which sold one million units in 60 weeks.
Sony is hopeful that this trend will continue as sales of the PS3 continue to do quite well in the UK, with more games coming, more publishers jumping on the PS3, and more gamers getting excited about the prospect of the next-gen console.

pure fanboy garbage. its sad what passes as news these days. maybe someday the ps3 will actually sell as well as the xbox. till then, all you fanboys can console yourself with the million sold mark, how many millions have ms sold? more than a million, which makes this article misleading and untrue. loser fanboy.
well done sony fair dus. microsoft are obviously still a bit ahead because everytime they sell an xbox it gets replaced 6 times because they break down so much.
Xbox 360 has to be the worst machine ever built. Even its designers say it was rushed. It sucks like a hover.. and maybe something else
