Rockstar Games Beyond GTA IV To Be PS3 Exclusive

Washington (dbTechno) - According to reports, all future games from Rockstar beyond Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusive to the PS3. GTA IV is slated to release in April on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but that may be all the love Xbox 360 owners get from Rockstar.
They stated in a report in Play Magazine “The game is both PS3 and 360, but Rockstar has suggested that all further game development is going to be PS3 exclusive.”
This has led many to believe that Rockstar is planning to once again be an exclusive developer for the Sony camp with all future games.
This is still a rumor at this point, but it is definitely something to take under consideration.
Rockstar putting out the past Grand Theft Auto releases on the PS2 gave the Sony console a huge advantage over the original Xbox console.
This has also led some ot speculate that Sony has put together another deal with Rockstar to get all future Grand Theft Auto titles exclusive to the PS3, much like they had with the PS2.
Only time will tell, but it is interesting to say the least.

This would be interesting to see, given EA is about to buy Rockstar’s parent company Take Two… if this happens, we can kiss any exclusive games goodbye.
Rockstar should have never doubted the power of Sony. It’s good to hear there are developers looking to move on to creating REAL Next-Gen games.

Ass Creed, Rock Band, and COD 4 on the 360 are all doing just better then 3 to 1 margins.
COD 4 moving 3 million + on xbox and now has just passed 1 million on PS3 and take in mind COD 4 has competition from Halo 3 to worry about.

PS3 is the best system so is a smart move from Rockstar Games to move to the only real next gen gaming console. It has great games perfect HD full 1080p graphics Blu-ray for huge games like GTA not old DVD from the 90s like Xbox 360 has. EA won’t get Rockstar Games Sony will never let that happen.
Explain how the PS3 is outselling the 360 worldwide and has a better 2008 lineup. Not to mention a game that outsells every Xbox game made. Gran Turismo. Yes, GT makes Halo sales laughable.
Well, First and foremost…. No, EA wont buy Take-Two… Take-Two has a bright future ahead, and Take-Two also know that EA will just kill all their great franchises… And Next…. Xbox 360 right now is “Dead” so to speak. If you look at the charts (yes Ive looked, done research too) the Xbox 360 is losing its numbers at a fast rate… Now, everyone might think (Oh, Your just a Ps3 Fanboy) but, I do infact have the Xbox 360 and Ps3, and will be getting rid of my Xbox 360… I find the Ps3, just a pure stable, better and more loving system than Xbox 360 could ever be. Furthurmore, Xbox 360 is not a Next-Gen system… its outdated DVD player and weak power make it as if it’s just a better version of the Super Nintendo… I wouldn’t be surprised if R* Went exclusive for Ps3… And after that last quote by Dan “Sure the Ps3 gave us hard times, but the 360 gave us a harder time… The low disc space being the biggest reason along with…” Yea im not gonna type it all.. I don’t want EA getting their dirty hands on these franchises but if EA buys out Take-Two, this will not make any difference to Rockstar’s exclusive deal with Sony because it will be a contract between the 2 and EA couldn’t do anything about it. Rockstar Publish their own games and GTA is developed by Rockstar North. So every game Rockstar publish after GTA IV will be exclusive to PS3. EA will just get the cash.
It may not be too bad if EA did own Take-Two as long as they don’t have any influence on development. What worries me is if EA starts messing with the 2K sports franchise. EA will have eliminated the competition, so whether we will only see EA sports games or if they mess with 2Ksports franchises to make them inferior, you may even see 2K ports dev teams make the games and EA publish the games under a different name.
Yeah right. Some of you are major MS haters which is sad because they have a console that sales games, unlike the ps3 which is a movie player 1st and games are an after thought/ games sold on the charts doesn’t lie. EA will own Take Two and the rockstar name. So if the other guys who run rockstar go their own way after their contract is up doesn’t change the other games that take two owns and EA will publish across all platforms including GTA V by EA.

If they buy it now they will get gta to themselves, if they buy it when gat 5 is coming out it wont matter to microsoft cos they wont get gta5 anyway. “suggests”, you ps3 fanboys. This is NOT a confirmation. it’s funny when r* is “exclusive” they’re important but when they’re mulitplat they’re not. Proof why the ps3 will continue to lag in last place; the average age and IQ of their customers.

Better than the 360, that is. So even if they did end up buying Take-Two after GTA IV comes out there is no reason to believe Rockstar games wouldn’t go PS3 exclusive.
It makes sense, because we know that LA Noire, Red Dead Revolver 2 & another game from rockstar are ps3 exclusive.

Rockstar’s Jeronimo Barrera said that PS3 was the partial delay off the GTA IV release and not the 360.

Whilst we know that the upcoming DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360 will be exclusive to Microsoft’s machine for 2008, the fact that Feder neglects to mention any specific platforms for 2009 suggests that perhaps PS3 owners will be treated to similar delights later down the line.
And on the theme of GTAIV, Take Two also confirmed that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, which is due out on April 29th, will be identical – aside from the fact that the Sony version will have a “slightly warmer colour pallet”.

In last night’s financial report, Rockstar owning Take Two stated that downloadable episodic content is an area that it intends to invest heavily in, with regular updates for its biggest titles already penned in for 2009.
“We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands, BioShock 2, our complete sports lineup, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands,” Take Two CEO Ben Feder stated.
Are all of you fanboys idiots? Quit arguing about which system is the best and take this into consideration. If you are a true hardcore gamer, all three of the next gen systems offer excellent games that you can’t play on any of the other two platforms. Quit whining about saying that this system is better than that system when they all clearly offer unique gaming experiences.

If something like that threatens to happen Microsoft will just buy Rockstar which was their initial plan awhile ago… Microsoft paying them 50 million dollars to have exclusive down content is a sign that they’ll do anything to have their part of any future GTA games…
But who knows PS3 might do the same thing and pull out the big cash and shut Xbox out of it which would be pretty Hilarius but by then Xbox will prob have their next console out so who knows what the future will hold…

This has been all but confirmed. My friend’s uncle works as a tester at Rockstar, and they want to use Blu-Ray capability on the next GTA, so it’s not a question of Sony paying for an exclusive, it’s more a case of Rockstar wanting to make a graphically better game. I have a PS3 and an XBox anyway, so it means nothing to me!
