MGS 4 Confirmed To Hit PS3 In U.S. This June

Boston (dbTechno) - Konami has revealed new details about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, an exclusive game on the Sony PS3. They announced the launch date for the game in North America, June 12, 2008, as well as pre-sell details, online details, and more.

Konami stated that the game will release in North America on June 12, 2008.

Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. Chairman and CEO Kazumi Kitaue stated “Blockbuster events and premieres are a tradition of the summer. We anticipate that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots fits that bill perfectly, and consumers will be waiting in line to get their copy of the game just like it’s a hit Hollywood movie.”

They also confirmed that the game will ship with the launch of Metal Gear Online “Starter Pack” which supports online gameplay. Gamers will be able to battle it out with up to 16 players online.

A pre-sell program was also announced.

Beginning in April 2008, those who pre-order MGS 4 will receive the Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD, containing a Prologue and recap of the MGS franchise.

They will also have a download code and special instructions to take part in the Metal Gear Online beta test, set for April.
