Capcom Hints At Street Fighter IV On Wii

Tokyo (dbTechno) - Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono has come out and dropped a hint that Street Fighter IV may not just release on the Xbox 360 and PS3, as it is possibly coming to the Nintendo Wii as well.
He stated at GDC last week that a Wii version is definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Read more

Dawn of the Dead Owners Sue Capcom Over Dead Rising

Boston (dbTechno) - The owners of the 1979 film Dawn of the Dead have filed a lawsuit against Capcom on the grounds of copyright infringement. The infringement has to do with the game Dead Rising, which featured zombies attacking survivors in a mall environment.
The owners of Dawn of the Dead, MKR Group, has sued Capcom over the similarities between Dawn of the Dead and Capcom’s Xbox 360 game Dead Rising. Read more
Guild Wars MMO Grows, Tops 5 Million Subscribers

New York (dbTechno) - The first major MMO to not rely on a monthly subscription fee, Guild Wars, has managed to top five million total units sold in North America, Europe, and Asia. This is still far behind the likes of World of Warcraft, but it is surely something to be proud of.
The game launched three years ago and has been received extremely well by gamers all around the world. One extremely positive thing to take out of this is that it is showing that the alternative MMO business model can actually work, one which does not rely on a subscription fee. Read more

The bundle will include a “Deep Red” Slim PSP which will come with a Kratos Silkscreen, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Superbad on UMD Video, as well as a free download of Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, all for $199.99.

Sony Unveils PS3 Bundle With MGS 4, and Dual Shock 3

Boston (dbTechno) - Sony Computer Entertainment America made the big announcement today that they are releasing a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PS3 bundle in late Q2 2008. The bundle will contain an 80GB PS3, MGS 4, as well as the brand new Dual Shock 3 controller. They also gave details on the MGS 4 release date, a free online beta for Metal Gear Online, and more!

Sony Has Top Secret PS3 Exclusive Planned For 2009

Washington (dbTechno) - 2008 is shaping up to be a huge year for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii, with many big releases from all three major consoles. Sony is already looking ahead though it seems as they apparently have shown off a top secret exclusive game for the PS3 slated for release in 2009.
For the record the game is not called Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, or any other of the big name games which are expected to be released on the next-gen PS3 very soon, this is something completely different. Read more
Sony Says LittleBigPlanet Is Biggest PS3 Game of 2008

Boston (dbTechno) - Sony’s senior product manager Nick Robinson has come out and stated that LittleBigPlanet is expected to be the biggest release on the PS3 in 2008. This is a very bold claim considering other big name games coming out such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, and others.
He stated “LittleBigPlanet is potentially our biggest Blu-ray release of 2008. We definitely see it as a triiple-A Blu-ray release and will be a full price product.” Read more
Nintendo Confirms Wii Online Play Will No Longer Be Free

Washington (dbTechno) - Nintendo has confirmed that online play for the Wii will no longer be free, as it is going the route of the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, charging for the online play. The new service will be called Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay & Play, leaving the PS3 and the PlayStation Network as the last free online play option.
Last week at the Game Developers Conference, the Group Manager for Network Administration at Nintendo, Takashi Aoyama, stated that future Nintendo Wii games would carry a subscription which users would have to pay for to play. Read more
