PS3 Public Home Beta To Kick Off This Month

Washington (dbTechno) - It appears that the public beta test for the PlayStation Network’s PlayStation Home service is getting ready to kick off in March. PS3 owners are likely going to be able to jump into the world of Home very shortly.
Reports are that many members of the official PlayStation Forums are being notified to link their accounts on the forums with their PlayStation Network accounts.
The e-mail has gone out to members of the Official European PlayStation Forums and is also likely to go out to those in North America as well. We have already received an e-mail from one of our readers that he has received the e-mail from Sony in North America.
The e-mail states that users must link their PlayStation Network account to their PSN user ID before March 16, 2008.
With the PlayStation Network and the Official PlayStation Forums now joining forces, it only makes sense that from this point forward, Sony is getting closer to a public Home beta for all PS3 owners to try out.
Sources are stating that the Home beta could begin as soon as this month, so it could be just a few weeks away!

This has been stated time and time again. Is there any proof to back up this claim?
Home beta is extreamly well and truely overdue in my eyes. The Home universe should have been fully up and running since mid 2007!!!! It would’nt suprise me one bit that at this rate. Home will be fully operational sometime in 2009!

Wow, so you’re saying that Home is coming out this month for sure? Awesome! Oh wait, you don’t have any idea at all. Not so awsome. How in the world do you go from PSN/Forum account linking to a Home beta this month? In fact, that’s the LAST thing that would make me assume there was a planned beta. The forums have little to do with the PSN, and I can only assume that Sony is doing this to reduce:
A) Data bloat on their servers.
B) Trolls on the forums.
Any other conclusion (especially beta ideas, I won’t mince words) is completely shallow and unfounded. Shame on you. Now if there’s actually some kind of tangible link between the two, go ahead and throw it up there for the world to see, but until then, keep it to yourself.

Linking your PSN ID to the forums has NOTHING to do with HOME.

Many times in the past I have seen beta programs begin by requiring people with an account on the forums discussing the game to link their forum accounts to a developers beta tracking (i.e. Steam, or Playstation Network) account. I can certainly see why they would think that. Whether or not that is the case in this instance. I don’t know. They could be related or they may not be. Hard to say.

Looking at current builds of home Isee y it hasnt been released.
The server laggs even with the like 40 ppl on beta in there at a time.
I dont no what theyll do wen every person who owns a ps3 is in there at the same time.
