Sony Confirms Revamp Of PS3 PlayStation Store
March 31, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Sony Computer Entertainment America made the announcement on Monday that they will be doing a total revamp of the PS3 PlayStation Store. Starting April 3, there will be no new downloadable content going up until the revamp is complete in the middle of April.
Sony has promised many new things for the updated PlayStation Store.
They have promised that it will enable customers “to more easily and quickly locate and purchase games, and download demos, game videos, Blu-ray movie trailers and other game-related content for PS3.”
The updated PlayStation Store will go live before the release of the big exclusive PS3 game, Gran Turism 5 Prologue.
Once this occurs, regular updates will resume.
Sony stated that the update will have no impact at all on any PlayStation Network accounts or anything of that nature.
A free firmware update will go live in the middle of April to allow PS3 owners to download the new and improved PlayStation Store.
