Gamers Choose Xbox 360 Version of GTA IV Over PS3

Washington (dbTechno) - According to a recent poll conducted by IGN, it appears that more gamers want the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV compared to the PS3 version.
Grand Theft Auto IV is planned to release on April 27th in the U.S. and is at an all-time-high in terms of hype and excitement.
The poll garnered around 18,000 votes and found that 64% voted that they would buy the Xbox 360 version, with only 36% voting for the PS3 version.
The poll question asked, “If you’re buying GTA IV, which platform version will you purchase?”
This is a two-to-one ratio which is a pretty wide margin for Xbox 360 owners to win by to be quite honest.
We will have to wait and see if this poll is representative at all of the final sales numbers at retail when it launches.

This article comes from someone who doesnt know when gta4 is coming out. And it isnt 2-1 to be exact, its 64-36.
GTA 4 is released on the 29th. and 36×2=72, not 64.
gta will still sell more ps3’s tho.
no one thought of this game when buying a xbox,but ps2 owner will want to upgrade from ps2 to (something)ps3/xbox and there will be more ps3 sold.
im going to guess tho that even without the extra content the xbox version will be better.
this is to be expected considering as of now there are more 360’s on the market. this isnt even news; its just someone pointing out the obvious. what might actually be interesting is how many ps2 owners jump to the ps3 to get the game. if ign is to hold another poll it should state: “how many ps2 owners are holding out for a AAA title like gta IV or mgs4.” this is a interesting stat that everyone has forgotten about.
it is 2-1 cos whats 64 divded by 2, 32 so its 4 less than the exact amount, anyway, i dont see all the trouble that microsoft went to for this exclusive content, take2 made a mistake aswell by accepting microsofts offer because not every1 who has a 360 has a hard drive
if 10 milion have xbox live 5 millionish have a hard drive, also microsoft get the money they gave to take2 back when the episodes get put on xbox live.
PSN is free to put the episodes on, there is no download limit and every ps3 owner has a hard drive. microsoft is the scammer and take2 are the idiots, sony are the smart guys, i’m glad that i have the ps3 and not the sexbox3shity and that ill be gettting gta4 on the better system, where gta4 belongs.
Additionally, these numbers probably reflect US #’s only, as the hardware ratio is much more in MS’ favor in the US. Outside the US, it’s been reported already that preorders are already in PS3’s favor. Regardless, I’m from the US and my preorder is on the PS3 (Special Edition), and it’s primarily because of the poor hardware quality of the Xbox.

yeah im pretty sure its US but im still getting it for ps3….exclusive content doesnt interest me and theres enough content in the game to keep me occupied, by the time dlc comes out, a good amount of big name ps3 exclusives will be out to keep me occupied
makes sense. many ps2 players are now 360 players. many of us remember the great time we had w/ it on the ps2 until our third and fourth ps2 received DDE or DRE errors and stopped working. Can’t wait to see what the 360 can do with this game. I think the 2 millon 360 sold in the UK will help.

There is like double as many 360’s out there as ps3’s so no wonder more 360 versions will be bought. The controls will be better on the PS3 version though because its okward using the 360 controller for anything other than fps’s

I have a ps3 so thats the version ill be getting, and i think if microsoft paid 5 milion, then sony can afford to double it so that we get the extra content i mean seriously they are sony, they invest in the long term and they can afford it. IGN seems to be more biased towards the 360 anyway so its no surprise most people voted for it.
Arguing about which console or version of the game is better is like winning a race at the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded. If you want the game, just buy it for the console you have, whats the big deal. I will be getting it when it comes out and will no doubt enjoy playing it. All this petty bickering about consoles is stupid, tiring and boring and brings the whole industry to an immature level.

The xbox 360 isn’t dead…yet; heck the PS3 isn’t even alive yet. Do not discount the 360 out of this fight. Microsoft will and has done quite a bit to ensure that GTA IV will sell more copies on their console. Dispite the fact that It has a larger fan base than the PS3,; they also shoveled out about as much money as a small latin country produces to get that extra content. I can’t resist that urge to purchase it. I want the acheivements and more gameplay and right now xbox 360 is the one that can give it to me.
I will be buying this for my 60GB PLAYSTATION 3. Xbox 360 version will have low texture and loading time haha PS3 is best must have version.
i think most people are realizing the ps3 has more trouble handling games than the 360. Sound drops, controller connections being dropped, poor framerates, online problems, etc are only the early proof the ps3 can’t game as well as the 360, so it makes sense the gamers will go where the best gaming is; obviously the 360. It’s just nice to know the 360 is the only one to get the full game. bummer for the ps3 tho.
They should have done this poll on people that own both Xbox and PS3. They should then show them how to socialise

who is really going to pay for content that is most likely wallpaper or videos?
I think, although both systems are great, that the PS3 version of GTA4 will be the top seller. I read PS3 GTA4 is HD and X360 is not. The PS3 will also have exclusive content that it will be out when PS3’s HOME is released. X360 version will come on probably 3 DVD’s and PS3 on one blu-ray. Another big thing to consider for X360 is that you have to PAY for this extra content, witch every dumbazz who owns a X360 will thus making MS make even MORE money from their measly $50 MILLION investment in this “Extra” content. The PS3 will have extra content too, and for FREE. Maybe not as long of game play (I read 10 extra hours for X360) but it will have exclusive content that includes co-op split screen multiplayer (not online) and will also have a multiplayer online mode probably just like X360. I think a non-online co-op 2 player is a SICK feature and may bring the sales of the PS3 GTA4 up. Seriously, how much more fun could it be having you and a friend fighting against each other in GTA4, or ganging up together and wreaking some havoc in liberty city (New York City). Either way, the game is going to be sick for each console. My vote is for the PS3 will be better due to its newer generation graphics and HD abilities. Also I would like to note that GTA4 is run by the RAGE engine (Rockstar Advanced Graphic Engine) witch also runs Rockstar’s Table Tennis game so check the graphics for that game. I have both consoles and pre-ordered two copies for each system (just to make sure I get at least 1 copy for each on release) and I will sell the others on eBay for ridiculous amount of money since the game will be sold out and probably never hit the shelves because they will all be pre-ordered and for those that didn’t pre-order (like I did February of 2007 LOL) will be SOL for weeks after the release. Anyway this is my small look on the game and the consoles for it. If you have some dumbazz response to my comment please don’t post it and keep it to yourself, we have enough flamers here already.
