Nintendo Responds To Wii Price Cut Rumors

April 9, 2008

Nintendo has come out and responded to the rumors that the Nintendo Wii would be receiving a price cut in Europe, as well as possibly the U.S. and Japan.Boston (dbTechno) - Nintendo has come out and responded to the rumors that the Nintendo Wii would be receiving a price cut in Europe, as well as possibly the U.S. and Japan.

Nintendo has come out and stated that the reports of a Nintendo Wii price cut are simply rumors, as there is nothing concrete.

The rumor-mill was hard at work this week though when a French site reported that the Nintendo Wii bundle with Wii Sports may see a price cut from EUR 249 down to EUR 149.

The idea behind the story was that Nintendo would lower the price and then release a Nintendo Wii bundle with Mario Kart Wii included for EUR 199.

Nintendo has stated it is simply rumor and speculation though, no truth to them at all.

why would they need to lower the price when they sell out the instant the shops recieve them?

That makes little sense because the reason to lower a consoles price is to sell more consoles but since they sell out almost instantly in Europe then there is no consoles to sell.
