April 28, 2008

The time has come for gamers to once again get caught up in a classic Nintendo franchise. This is because Nintendo has now officially launched the highly-anticipated Wii racer, Mario Kart Wii.

The game began shipping on Sunday, with many gamers going in droves to their local retailers to pick up the racer.

Mario Kart Wii retails for $49.99 and also comes with a free accessory, the Wii Wheel.

The Wii Wheel allows them to take their Wii remote and place it in a plastic casing in the shape of a steering wheel. This gives them better control when trying to compete in Kart.

The game features an extensive offline array of modes with single and multi-player stages.

Gamers can also take Mario Kart Wii online though for the first time on a home console. This allows users to race against up to 11 others, and then watch their stats in the Mario Kart Wii channel.

This should prove to be yet again another major sales week for Nintendo with this release.
