Sony Fires At MS In Regards GTA IV Sales Numbers On Xbox 360

May 12, 2008

Sony has come out and stated that Microsoft released false information in regards to how the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV did compared to the Sony PS3 version in terms of sales at retail.Boston (dbTechno) - Sony has come out and stated that Microsoft released false information in regards to how the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV did compared to the Sony PS3 version in terms of sales at retail.

Sony Computer Entertainment Australia’s Managing Director, Michael Ephraim, has come out and told IGN AU that Microsoft’s claims of dominance in terms of Xbox 360 GTA IV sales are false.

He stated that the Microsoft press release put out is “completely wrong.”

The reason it is wrong is that Microsoft failed to take into account or add the 5,000 GTA IV PS3 bundles which were sold.

He stated that when you add in those bundles, the PS3 version of GTA IV actually beat out the Xbox 360 version in terms of sales.

Ephraim stated he confirmed this with retailer EB in Australia as well, stating “the PS3 SK outsold the Xbox 360 SKU.”
