Sony To Release PS3 Firmware 2.40 Wednesday, In-Game XMB

Washington (dbTechno) - Sony has announced that they will release the major PS3 firmware update 2.40 this Wednesday, July 2nd. Included in the firmware update will be the in-game XMB, as well as Trophies.
The PS3 firmware 2.40 update will allow for the in-game XMB to be access at any time.
This will allow gamers to check who is online, read and send messages, and an expanded friends list capacity.
The other big update in PS3 firmware 2.40 is the inclusion of Trophies, the PS3 version of Xbox 360 Achievements.
When you complete certain things on PS3 games, you will receive these Trophies to show off. Games will have gold, silver, and bronze trophies, as well as a platinum trophy is you get them all. These can then be shown off to your friends.
