Nintendo Faces Ban On Wii, GameCube Controllers In U.S.
July 24, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Nintendo is facing a ban on several of their controllers for both the Wii and the GameCube.
Nintendo faces the ban after they lost a legal battle, which resulted in them facing a $21 million patent-infringement verdict.
Nintendo and Microsoft were both under fire and accused of patent infringement by Anascape Ltd. Microsoft though decided to settle out of court.
District Judg eRon Clark denied Nintendo’s claim that the $21 million payment was excessive back in June, and also threw out Nintendo’s plea for a new trial.
This impacts the Nintendo GameCube and WaveBird controllers, as well as the Nintendo Wii Classic Controller.
It does not, however, impact the Nintendo Wii Remote, or Wii Nunchuk.
