PS2 Beats Out Xbox 360, Wii In Terms Of Time Played In ‘08

The Sony PS2 is still the number one console in regards to the number of minutes gamers put into it, beating out the Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and its successor, the Sony PS3.<br /> ....Boston (dbTechno) - The Sony PS2 is still the number one console in regards to the number of minutes gamers put into it, beating out the Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and its successor, the Sony PS3.

Nielsen Media Research put out the new figures for the year 2008 to show which console was played the most.

Surprisingly, it was the Sony PlayStation 2 that managed to beat out the competition.

The PS2 was the top console in terms of usage, as 30.2% of all console-gaming minutes in 2008 went to it.

In second was the Xbox 360 which was at 18.3%, while the Nintendo Wii managed 13.5% of all console-gaming minutes in 2008.

The bottom of the past was the original Xbox in fouth at 9.1%, the PS3 at 7.7% and the GameCube at 4.4%.

For those who want an alarming number, World of Warcraft players averaged nearly 12 hours each week in the game.
