No Doubt Sues The Developer Of Video Game Band Hero
November 5, 2009
Washington (dbTechno) - The music group No Doubt has filed a lawsuit against the developer of the video game Band Hero.
Activision, who develops and publishes the game Band Hero, has been hit with the suit for basically misrepresenting the band No Doubt.
No Doubt is claiming that the game basically allows players to have their lead singer Gwen Stefani perform suggestive lyrics, among other things.
Basically, No Doubt is not too happy with the way in which the game can be manipulated to have the group singing different songs and lyrics.
The company Activision stated that they have a valid written agreement with No Doubt to put them in Band Hero.
Activision put out a statement saying “As a result, Activision believes it is within its legal rights with respect to the use and portrayal of the band members in the game and that this lawsuit is without merit,” the statement said. “Activision is exploring its own legal options with respect to No Doubt’s obligations under the agreement.”
No Doubt did not want to allow, reportedly, their characters to be manipulated in-game.
