The researchers stated that it is very important to limit red meat to only two servings per week.

Metabolic syndrome is what gets increased from consuming all of the red meat. This leads to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Metabolic syndrome is diagnosed when you have elevated blood pressure, a large waist, elevated blood sugar, and reduced levels of good cholesterol.

Dr. Lyn Steffen of the University of Minnesota looked at the diets of over 9,500 people.

Two groups were made, one with a Western diet, red meat, processed meat, fried foods, and a prudent diet, which was more fruits, vegetables, poultry, fish, etc.

Steffen stated that “The Western diet increased the risk by about 18% overall of getting metabolic syndrome over nine years.”

Those who ate over two servings of meat per day, about two hamburgers, increased their risk by 26%.

She slso stated that one can of diet soda each day raised the risk by 34%. Fried food consumption caused a 25% increased risk.

Another study that tries to support the US govt’s distorted view of diet and heart disease and how the govt is manipulating these studies. Read Gary Taubes’ book and find out that all this is just bunk. It’s the refined carbs, sugars, and especially the Diet Coke that’s causing the heart risk.
