California Slaughter House Investigated for Animal Cruelty

Sacramento (dbTechno) - A Chino California state slaughter house named the Hallmark Meat Packing Co, is being investigated by the Agriculture Department after claims of animal cruelty towards their dairy cows have been reported.
A video has been revealed which shows workers kicking cows and slamming them with the blade of a forklift at the Hallmark Meat Packing Co.
The video shows the dairy cows in severe pain, making squealing noises repeatedly.
The video also shows the workers poking cows in the eyes after they have fallen down.
The Humane Society of the United States released the video following a six-week investigation.
Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer stated “appropriate actions will be taken.”
The president of Hallmark, Steve Mendell, stated “We are shocked, saddened and sickened by what we have seen today.”

I attend one of the schools that the beef from these cows go to, and I’d like to say how disturbed I am by the cruel treatment of animals and the very immature and unresponsible way that the owner of this company is conducting his business. I believe this company should be shut down immediately and every worker involved should be banned from the meat working industry immediately and for life. The meat from this company is shipped to my school every day and is fed to hundreds of students. I am not a vegitarian, but when I see things like this happening, it makes me feel like I should be one. These workers don’t care about anyone but themselves and their paychecks. If they know they won’t be eating that meat, then they’re fine with whatever they do to those cows, and that’s so irritating to me. It’s one thing to treat these animals in the harsh ways that they’re being treated, but do these people realize that these sick cows that they’re trying to keep on the market could kill hundreds of people??? I can say that I will not be eating any school lunches including beef pruducts for quite some time, because this incident has made me realize how irresposible people are and how much it could affect hundreds of lives (possibly thousands)…I hope that I am not the only one to ever see this message, and I hope people hear what I have to say, and that they can agree with my words.
I would like to know what is being done about these “people”? Did they just get a slap on the hands or have they been arrested? They are sick, as is anybody that could treat any animal that way. I would like to take them out and beat the “crap” out of them, and worse. I’m sure most people feel the same. I hope the Humane society does a followup on this and checks out other slaughter houses. I realize animals are slaughtered but it does not have to be treated as inhumane as you showed. Let them that do be treated the same. What goes around comes around.
I cannot believe what I see and what I read concerning the cruel and inhumane treatment of cattle at the slaughter houses. I have heard of this before but I closed my ears and mind, but now what can be done to STOP THIS CRUEL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS.
I am strongly considering not buying beef any more. I am encouraging my family to stop purchasing beef.

I plan to wirte my Congressmen and others concerning this.
What were these guys thinking? How would they like it if the same treatment was given to them when they were no longer able to get around or were too weak to move? Can i poke them in the head when they cant get up? Let me give you a shock hon so you will jump an inch closer to your inevitable death. If these people were treated the way these cows were treated they would sure be putting up a huge fuss and crying for their rights. I am so outraged rational thinking eludes me. I don’t think i will be buying any beef for a while either.
