Epsom Salts Reduce Cerebal Palsy Risk In Premature Babies
January 31, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Epsom salts contains a compound made up of magnesium sulfate, which has been found to reduce the risk of Cerebral Palsy in premature babies.
Dr. John Thorp of the University of North Carolina has come out and stated that doctors need to give serious thought to giving this magnesium sulfate compound found in Epsom salts to mothers before they give birth to premature babies.
Epsom salts is an extremely popular name brand which has this particular compound in it. Pregnancies which have extremely premature labor have been known to use this compound from time to time.
Thorp stated “It’s cheap. It’s readily available. It doesn’t harm anybody. I think it will be widely adopted.”
Doctors are still not exactly sure why the compound reduces the risk of premature babies being born with Cerebal Palsy. All that is known is that it does work and that the risk does drop.
