This should immediately raise a health warning to all as prescription drugs are not always safe and can kill if not used properly.   The mix of the prescription drugs used by Ledger caused his tragic death.

The examiner stated that Heath Ledger died “as a result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.”

These are generic names for drugs which go by the brand names of OxyContin, Vaccul, Xanax, Vicodin, sleep aid Restoril, Unisom, and others.

It was believed all along that all of the drugs Ledger had in his apartment at the time of his death were legal drugs.

It was the combination of these prescription drugs though which caused the accidental overdose and his tragic death.

The examiner stated the death was determined “accidental.”
