New York (dbTechno) – A new report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revealed that 10% of U.S. adults are not getting enough rest or sleep on a daily basis. It appears that many Americans are missing out on the much-needed rest time every night.
The CDC put out their weekly Morbidity and Mortality report, taking a very close look at data from a survey of four states done by the government organization.
The survey, carried out in Delaware, Hawaii, New York, and Rhode Island, found that 10% of adults were not getting the required sleep.
Insufficient sleep was found to decrease with age. 13.3% of adults aged 18 to 34 reported having a lack of rest or sleep.
This dropped to 7.3% for adults aged 55 and older.
It revealed that 1 in every 3 U.S. adults stated that they got enough rest or sleep every day for the last 30 days.
The CDC stated it is important that all U.S. adults know how important it is to their health that they get enough sleep on a daily basis.
