The Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada has been sued by a former patient, in connection with the accusation that the surgical center reused syringes and vials of medication in various patients, possibly spreading hepatitis and other diseases.Boston (dbTechno) - The Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada has been sued by a former patient, in connection with the accusation that the surgical center reused syringes and vials of medication in various patients, possibly spreading hepatitis and other diseases.

The former patient sued on the grounds that the patient now fears for his health.

The lawsuit was filed in the Eighth Judicial Court of Nevada and alleges gross negligence.

It is asking for punitive damages, around $10,000 per patient.

Just one day ago, the Southern Nevada Health District announced that there were unsafe practices at the clinic.

It is expected that these practices of reusing syringes could have caused six cases of hepatitis C reported.

40,000 patients received syringes from the clinic between March 2004 and January 2008.

They are all being asked to get tested for hepatitis, C, B, as well as HIV.

The clinic put out a statement saying it has cleaned up its practices.
