Starbucks Barista Donates Kidney To Save Life of Customer

55-year-old Annamarie Ausnes, needless to say, is very happy that she met Starbucks barista Sandie Anderson.

Ausnes stated during a talk with Andersen that she needed a kidney transplant. The only problem was that her husband and son were not matches, meaning that they could not donate their kidneys to her to save her.

Without hesitation, Andersen offered to have a blood test to see if she matched the customer.

The great thing is that she ended up being a perfect match. This week, Andersen donated her kidney to Ausnes at the Virginia Mason Medical Center.

This gave Ausnes three kidneys, which she needed according to surgeons.

The new kidney did not get in the way and in a few weeks, she is expected to be 100% back to normal.

  • this is hysterically ironic considering the effects of coffee consumption on kidney function.

  • As a kidney transplant patient, I applaud any publicity whatsoever on kidney donation. It totally changed my life. It is misleading, however, to imply that the recipient will be back to normal within a few weeks. The anti-rejection meds that must be taken twice daily are very powerful, and cause many side effects. It is better than being on dialysis, but I know that I, personally, will never recover to what I was before I became ill.

    Please become an organ/tissue donor!

  • This is very touching Good going
